How much does the iphone 3g cost without a contract?

I have been looking through the internet and they say $200 dollars for the 8 gb and $300 for the 16 gb but then when i go to ebay it says even up to $400 and up so what is the real price of the iphone 3g of both the 8gb and the 16gb?
