In the 21th Century, can you do without cell phones?

Cell phone is unquestionably a most frequently used communication device by people of in the recent years. As communication technologies are developing rapidly, fancy functions like GPS, Bluetooth, and MP3/4 are added to the small gadget. Sending messages and making calls have become the most basic functions of wholesale cellular phones. When the small widgets are involved in more and more activities, people began to realize that it has been almost unimaginable for social person to do without a cell phone at hand in everyday life.

The existence of cell phones had greatly increased the link between separate individuals. A person can hardly imagine how his/her life could be like if there isn’t a cell phone at hand. Say, cell phone has become an absolute must of every member in world village. To put it more exactly, it has already become an addiction of not a few people.

This has become an invulnerable fact after I’ve experienced a whole week of living with my cell phone paralyzed. The cell phone battery charger got broken accidentally and since I was up to my neck in work in that whole week, I got the chance to test how troublesome it can be without a cell phone around.

My work does not involve much communication outside of business hours, additionally, I’m not the sort that addict to calling, it should to be all right being out of reach for only one week. At the very beginning I supposed this way.

Yet on Tuesday, It turned out that I was already the most sinful person of the world the moment I checked my mailbox, finding that I had been seeked after throughout the world furiously by the ex-roommates. (Lately I rent a new house. And the deposit of the one I rent together with my ex-roommates, which became due around that time, can’t  get returned without My ex-roommates left a load of messages and tried to contact me all day long and could not get any response. So both two ex-roommates got crazy because an amount of fees will be charged for each day delayed.

After this case, the quality of both my cell phone and I was bitterly deemed vulnerable.

The following a few days seemed to be all right, except for some messages, several unanswered calls later found, as well as some blames in respond to my impolite and irresponsive behaviors  made outwardly or inwardly by some names in my cell phone.

Our daily life is becoming more and more mobile in comparison with the old times. With cell phones, we are linked to others surrounding us and will feel free to go anywhere as we like. The small device can help make sure that we will be found by our relatives, friends, and others at any necessary time, at any location, once any emergency occur. Yet, meanwhile we seem to have been imprisoned in an invisible jail that is tremendously hard to escape from.
